I hope to share my story with others and provide inspiration on how you can approach your projects. To hear how others work is a wonderful starting point for figuring out the many choices available to you, the possibilities are endless. 

Sofia Dragt is a composer, singer, songwriter, vocal and piano coach based in the Netherlands. She splits her time between writing music for films and documentaries, teaching music and developing songs for her own artist project. 

Much of Sofia’s inspiration and creativity comes from time spent in nature, submerging herself in the wilderness of a hike or journey in the outdoors. Traveling through the countryside, she finds connection with the music she listens to and the landscapes around her. It’s one of the reasons she feels so strongly about linking film and music together, it gives the listener the opportunity to not only hear the songs but also to capture a moment in time that visually represents the emotion and mood of the piece. 

Sofia is an advocate for living and creating independently, that is to say she values the ability to make your own choices, direct your own creative process and work with the people you connect most with.
